Lydia Sophia Christensen
Actor - Musician - Scholar
nice to meet you,
i’m lydia.
With an ardent love for Shakespeare’s canon and literary adaptation, I am a believer that words have the power to change our lives and the world.
Originally from Boise, Idaho, I am an experienced, classically-trained actor with a specialty in Shakespeare and heightened text performance. I am currently an MFA candidate at the Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training at Florida State University, a top 25 MFA program worldwide. Additionally, I hold a Master of Letters in Shakespeare & Performance from Mary Baldwin University with expertise in original staging practices and early modern performance.
My acting career has taken me across the country, performing with the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, the American Shakespeare Center, Endstation Theatre Company, Mended Wing Theatre Co, and the Silver Line Theatre Exchange.
With a Bachelor of Arts in both English Literature and Spanish, I am an award-winning scholar on the topic of Shakespearean critical analysis, and have studied theatre and literature in Madrid, Spain.
I am deeply passionate about theatre accessibility and the power theatre holds as a tool for social advocacy.
